Eniola Aluko
Investor / Advisor - Former Professional Footballer
Mercury 13 Multi Club Ownership
Eniola “Eni” Aluko is one of British sport’s most distinctive voices — a former international footballer whose post-playing career has stretched from boardrooms in Los Angeles to broadcast booths at the world’s biggest tournaments. Across 104 caps for the England Lionesses, a season at Juventus and a trophy-laden spell with Chelsea, she helped reshape the modern women’s game, and represented Team GB at the London 2012 Olympics.
Off the pitch, Eni graduated from Brunel University with a First Class Honours degree in Law (LLB) and qualified as a UK Sports & Entertainment solicitor — the first hint of a career that would refuse to sit in one lane. For more than a decade she has been a fixture on ITV, Amazon Prime and Fox Sports, analysing the biggest moments in men’s and women’s football. In 2021 she made history as the inaugural Sporting Director of Angel City FC in Los Angeles, helping redefine what a women’s club could look like commercially, culturally and on the pitch.
Eni speaks with rare authority on women’s leadership, high performance, diversity & inclusion, team culture, online safety and the commercial rise of women’s sport — themes shaped by her own reinvention from athlete to executive. She has delivered keynotes for Bloomberg, Nomura, Barclays, Deloitte, Avon, JPMorgan Chase, Forbes and WPP, and holds ambassadorial roles with Adidas, UEFA, the Confederation of African Football and Refuge, alongside a board seat with Charity:Water.
Awarded an MBE in November 2023 for services to football, Eni’s interests off duty span travel, the creative arts, fashion, food — and a serious love of chess.
